PVA's Alumni Scholarships reflect our commitment to supporting Pine View graduates as they continue their journeys beyond our alma mater. These scholarships recognize seniors who truly embody the Pine View spirit of excellence. Every donation made here is allocated directly to PVA's dedicated Alumni account.

We are proud to present the following scholarships, each of which honors the legacy of a beloved Pine View figure or family, and supports students who embody their spirit:

Betsy Herman

Elizabeth "Betsy" Herman Memorial Scholarship $1,000

Betsy Herman, Class of 1997

In memory of Betsy Herman (PV Class of 1997), a compassionate and driven student who volunteered extensively at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. This scholarship supports students aspiring to make a difference in medicine and community health.

Ken Bowermeister

Scherer Family – Ken Bowermeister Music Scholarship $500

Aaron Korotie

Aaron Korotie Memorial Scholarship $1,000

Aaron Korotie, Class of 1998

Named in honor of Aaron Korotie (PV Class of 1998), an exceptional student whose passion for math, science, and the humanities lives on through this scholarship.

Sol Malinsky

Sol Malinsky Memorial Scholarship $500

Sol Malinsky, biology teacher 1972–1989

This award honors Sol Malinsky, a larger-than-life biology teacher who taught from 1972 to 1989 and founded Pine View's first peer mentoring program.

Anthony Nguyen

Anthony Nguyen Memorial Scholarship

Class of 2002 and the Nguyen Family

Established by the Class of 2002 and the Nguyen Family, this award supports a first-generation college student or first-generation American who honors their family's sacrifices while striving for a better future.

David L. Wyant, Jr.

David Wyant Memorial Scholarship

David L. Wyant, Jr., Class of 2001

This Scholarship is in honor of David L. Wyant, Jr. (Class of 2001), who passed away on June 2, 2023, after fighting a strong battle with Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis and Cholangiocarcinoma. David had many passions, which he pursued with unwavering dedication and wholehearted enthusiasm. At the heart of much of what he loved was a deep commitment to self-expression through creativity. This scholarship honors David's legacy by celebrating a Pine View senior who shares his appreciation for the power and importance of creativity in all its forms.
